What types of mortgages does BankTexas offer?

   We offer fixed-rate 10, 15, 20 and 30 year mortgages, adjustable rate mortgages, and interest only

   mortgages.  We also offer interim construction loans, financing for investment properties and a

   variety of refinancing options.

 

   What is the interest rate today?

   Does BankTexas service its mortgages?

   Yes, we service all of the mortgages that we originate, meaning you’ll be in contact with us from

   the moment you apply for the loan to the day you make your last payment.

 

   What is escrow?

   Escrow is where a portion of your property’s real estate taxes, private mortgage insurance (if

   applicable), and homeowner’s insurance is included in your monthly statement.  These funds are

   held in an escrow account until they are due and we pay them from this account.

 

 

 

   What is the minimum down payment required?

   We typically expect a down payment of at least 5% of the purchase price.

 

   Can I see my credit score before applying for a loan?

   Yes.  BankTexas offers a variety of options for reviewing your credit report, which we recommend

   in order to help you protect against identity theft.  Visit our credit center for more information.

 

 

 

   When are my payments due?

   Your payment due date was established when you originated your loan and is stated in your Note. 

   It’s a good idea to look at your Note to see when your payment is due each month.

 

   Can I make my payments electronically?

   Yes, we can automatically deduct your payment from your checking account at any bank.  Stop by

   one of our offices and we’ll gladly get you started.  In addition, you can make your payments online

   through eBank.

 

   How long does it take for my payment to reach BankTexas?

   We generally recommend that you mail your payment seven days ahead of its due date to ensure

   delivery.

 

   How do I make a payment if I have not received or have misplaced my coupon book?

   We accept payments without coupons: just write your loan number on your check and mail it to us. 

   You can also make your loan payments online, using eBank or BankLine.

 

   What if I start having financial problems and can’t make my payment in a timely manner?

   If you are having financial difficulties, it is always best to make us aware of your situation.  We may

   have a payment program available to help you through your hardship.
